2021 MVHAL Calendar
FIRST RUN SOLD OUT!!!
For the first time, the MVHAL calendar sold out within the first few hours of the final Farmers Market.
We have decided to try and put together a second printing of the calendar if enough people want it. This is the first time this has been offered! This is the first time we have sold out!
The conditions are that you make your purchase now (deadline of November 15), and they will be ready to pick up the first week of December.
They must be bought online from the link above with a credit card or bank card.
If we do not get enough orders to make a minimum order from the printer, your money will be returned to the credit card you made the payment with.
So if you missed out, forgot, or you want a few more, this is your chance!
MVHAL’s mission is to improve the health, well-being, and quality of life for the people of the Mimbres Region (defined as the communities that lie along and around NM State Hwy 60 and 35) by supporting local programs that promote healthy food for all, community bonding, and improved access to health care—in particular for our elderly and very young. Scroll down to see the wonderful projects we support!
A Brief History
MVHAL was established in 2002 with the help of Hildago Medical Service (HMS) and local residents interested in enhancing the quality of life in the Mimbres Valley through locally-based programs focused on health and well-being for all ages. MVHAL meets regularly on the second Wednesday of each month.
The Mimbres Messenger is the monthly “written voice” of the goings-on in our valley. It’s an invaluable resource for reporting what has happened, what to see, and what’s coming up the month ahead. This month’s issue and all back issues, going back to April 2014, are available at the link below.
Mimbres Food Distribution
MVHAL has been a part of the monthly food distribution program to households in the valley since its inception in 2004. We partner with the Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico
Mimbres Farmers Market
The Mimbres Valley Farmers’ Market provides an outlet for growers to sell fresh and nutritious locally grown food to their neighbors. The Market fosters direct connections and bonds between farmers and shoppers.
San Lorenzo Elementary School Garden and Greenhouse
Here in the Valley, we are very proud of our AAA-rated San Lorenzo Elementary School and its garden and greenhouse. The San Lo Garden and Greenhouse has a long history of community growth and involvement
